1.14.2019:  Structure Fire- Mutual Aid Assist

On January 14th, the Beachwood Fire Department was request to assist the Manitou Park Fire Department with a structure fire in their jurisdiction.  Initially, we provided a cover assignment for their station but later moved to the scene to assist with operations.  Manitou Park Fire Department's release is below.

Monday Night Station’s 18, 17, 20 & 26RIT were dispatched to a residential structure fire. Chief 1800 arrived reporting a working fire with exposure problems & Established Command. Engine 1811 arrived first due and went into service with a hand line to protect the exposure. Ladder 1835 arrived second due and put a second hand line in service and set up for elevated master stream operations. Next arriving units Squad 1833 and Engine 1831 established water supplies to support operations along with arriving mutual aid companies 

Units from Station 18, Station 17, Station 20, Station 26, Station 16 & Station 32 responded to the scene along with OC Fire Coordinator, Berkeley Fire Prevention, Berkeley EMS, South Toms River EMS, Beachwood EMS, Berkeley Township Public Works, Berkeley Township Police Department and Ocean County Sheriff’s Department.

Station 53 and Station 25 provided coverage during the time units were committed to the fire scene.

Crews extinguished the fire and cleared after several hours working in low teen temperatures.

The fire is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshall’s Office, Berkeley Township Fire Prevention, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Berkeley Township Police Department.
