6.09.2017:  Friday Night Car Fire

At approximately 9:30 PM Friday night, the Beachwood Fire Department responded to car fire in the driveway of a residence on the 600 block of Ensign Avenue. Upon arrival, Command units found an engine compartment fire that the resident and neighbors were trying to fight with garden hoses and prevent from spreading to an adjacent boat and the house itself. BFD units arrived quickly and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries and the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office responded to investigate the cause of the fire with the Beachwood Police Detective Bureau. BFD units remained on scene late into the night to provide lighting for the investigators. Beachwood EMS also responded and assisted at the scene.

7.10.2017:  Suspicious Truck Fire/ Suspect Arrested

At approximately 5:45 AM the Beachwood Fire Department responded to the report of smoke in the area of the 600 block of Briar Way. Upon arrival a working vehicle fire was discovered in the wooded area off of Oak Street and Briar Way. The fire was quickly extinguished and is suspicious in nature. The incident is under investigation by the Beachwood and Toms River Police Department Detective Bureaus and the Ocean County Arson Task Force. 7.09.2017:  Sunday Car Fire on Parkway

At approximately 3:30, the Beachwood and Pinewald Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle fire at 78.8 south on the Garden State Parkway. The fire was knocked down in minutes of arrival, traffic however was tied up for sometime. There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The Bayville First Aid provided assistance at the scene as did the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

6.13.2017:  Beachwood Police Rescue Subject  from House Fire

At approximately 7:30 PM the Beachwood Police and Fire Departments responded to the report of a structure fire with multiple people possibly being inside on the 700 block of Spar Avenue. Upon arrival, police reported smoke showing and a working fire. Police Officers then forced entry and removed one unconscious party from the first floor as fire department command personnel and apparatus arrived. Search operations for the other missing parties were conducted as the fire located on the first floor was quickly extinguished. 

6.21.2017:  Structure Fire at Old Disbrow's Market

At approximately 1230 hours the Beachwood and Pine Beach Fire Departments were dispatched to the report of a stove fire at an apartment located on the 100 block of Beachwood Boulevard. The building was formerly Disbrow's Market and later Clancey's Video. It is now a vacant commercial structure with attached apartments to the rear and second floor. Upon arrival command units found the stove fire had progressed into a well involved kitchen fire.-READ MORE

6.09.2017:  Beachwood Firefighter Robert Tapp receives award at 200 Club Dinner

We are proud to announce that Beachwood Firefighter Robert Tapp was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the 200 Club of Ocean County at their annual awards dinner this evening. FF Tapp was recognized for his 45 years of dedicated service to our Department. FF Tapp, who is still active today, served in many facets in our Department including being a past Assistant Chief. He also served as a Deputy Fire Marshal in the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office. Today, Tapp is our senior trustee and lead driver/pump operator trainer. Several members of the Department as well as the Tapp family attended the ceremony. Congratulations Bob!
